Architecture
Engineering overview
The production stack separates the Next.js frontend from a FastAPI backend. PostgreSQL stores application data. Alembic manages database migrations. SQLAlchemy 2 provides ORM access. Pydantic v2 handles application schemas and validation.
Services run on a Hetzner VPS under Docker Compose orchestration. Next.js and FastAPI run as separate application services — not in the same process.
